My client is a successful global research / development and manufacturing company based in the South Wales area. An exciting opportunity has just become available for a Research & Materials Technician to be responsible for development work focused on new and evolving materials and designs targeted at continually improving product capabilities for existing and new applications


Main Duties

* Managing internal and external R & D programmes focused at enhancing of product technologies and preparation of technical reports

* Laboratory testing and evaluation of key development materials

* Supervision of the manufacture of sample products or prototypes using new materials, components, tools or equipment.

* Actively involved in building new products through development stages to production hand - over.


Candidate Requirements

* Degree in Materials / Chemistry / Electrochemistry. Second degree would be advantageous but not essential.

* Prior industrial R&D experience advantageous but not essential.

* IT skills MS Office

* Team player comfortable with working on a Global basis

* Awareness of statistical techniques for R&D
