Health & Safety Officer
Position: Health and Safety Officer
Reporting to: the Executive General Manager
A great opportunity has arisen for a talented individual to join the team as a Health and Safety Officer.
This is a new role and requires a hands on approach to Health and Safety.
Duties will include:
• The development of policies, procedures, risk assessments and coaching in good practice
• To support the company’s management team in the organisation of health & safety within their departments
• To conduct regular site visits and inspections
• To initiate disciplinary action as appropriate to ensure that processes and procedures are followed by all employees
• To establish / review and communicate Permit to Work procedures
• Deliver and monitor site Toolbox talk programmes to all staff
• Investigate accidents and dangerous occurrences and report as necessary
• Undertake periodic audits and reviews of health and safety practices
• Ensuring company compliance with the CDM regulations
• Identify training needs and provide necessary training courses
• Maintain a training / qualification system to ensure the company meets requirements of current COSHH assessments
• To be the first point of contact for the HSE
The successful candidate will be: IOSH/NEBOSH qualified, preferably with experience in a similar role.
Hours of work: 35 hours per week
