Teaching Assistant
Large primary school in Cardiff is looking for Learning Support Assistant to work in their KS 2 classes
The position is long term ongoing
Main duties:
To work under the instruction and guidance of teaching team
To support individuals and groups of pupils to enable access to learning
To assist the teacher in the management of pupils within the classroom and beyond
Main duties:
To provide support for pupils:
Supervise and provide particular support for pupils including those with special needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities
Assist with the learning and development of all pupils including the implementation of individual Education/ Behaviour plans and Personal care programmes - toileting feeding mobility
Set challenging and demanding expectations and promote self-esteem and independence
Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievements under guidance of the teacher
Provide effective feedback to pupils in relation to programmes and recognise and reward achievement
Apply strategies to encourage independence and self-confidence
Attend to the pupils personal needs and implement related personal programmes including social health physical hygiene etc
Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils
Encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in the activity lead by teacher
Support pupils on integration and re integration programmes
To provide support for the teachers
Prepare the classroom as directed for lessons and clear afterwards and assist with the display of pupils work
Monitor pupils responses to learning activities and undertake pupil record keeping as requested
Provide detailed and regular feedback to teachers on pupil achievements, progress, problems
Apply school policy in relation to the promotion of positive pupil behaviour and attitudes to learning
Liaise with teachers to create supporting learning environment
Support the teacher in managing pupils behaviour
