guide dogs for the Blind Needs Volunteers aged 18-30
Guide Dogs For The Blind is looking to expand its youth volunteering base by introducing a social/fundraising club for people aged 18-30 this is hoped to be fully set up by September but I am trying to get funding for it and I need people in this age group to help me set up and the grant I am going for to fund the club asks that I consult people in the community within this age group.
This is based on mixture of two things one being guide dogs classic volunteer structure where you have local branch with a committee and then other roles as shown below and secondly rotaract a rotary club 18-30 club which as social events every week and also does charitable events we will doing more charitable work. the reason for this idea is hope is to attract people with social side of it and they enjoy volunteering and get other friends to do it and pass on a postive message about volunteering
If you did not think this sort of thing was suitable for you. You could just volunteer for one of the guide dogs branches in Cardiff or Newport which includes anywhere with a CF or NP Postcode there are various roles available.
These are some of roles which are available at the moment but there are many more depending on how much you can give or skills you have or want to improve for instance one of our new volunteers who has previous accounting experience has now become the treasurer for the Newport Branch.
Other roles available:
Speaker Co-ordinator
Speaker
Boarder
Puppy walker (this is a full time commitment)
Branch Organiser
Fundraising

Guide dogs are a great organisation to volunteer for. I am 23 and I have been volunteering for them for just less than 6 months and the people are very friendly and welcoming and you have good time and have a laugh whilst helping to support this great organisation.
I know that said a lot but if it unclear please do not hestiate to contact me
We have a facebook group called Guide Dogs in Wales
