A Special School in Rhondda Cynon Taff are looking to appoint a qualified and experienced Teaching Assistant to work at their Special School in Rhondda Cynon Taff.

Job Details:

- Ideal candidate will have a Special Needs degree, NVQ Level  3, Learning Mentor background or equivalent
- Experienced in youth work
- Relevant qualification in art/ music / sports
- Proven behaviour management skills
- Promoting educational opportunities for vulnerable children and young people
- Experience of working with children who display challenging behaviour
- Experience working on one to one basis to help overcome barriers to learning
- Support re-integration process
- Proven track record in establishing effective relationships with children with attachment needs and SEN
- Aiding in the writing of and implementing of IEP's
- The ability to work with other professionals and parents/carers.
- Team Teach or MAPA training would be desirable  
 
Essential Skills:

Due to the nature of the provision of the children candidates must be caring, patient, understanding with an empathetic nature
