My challenge this year is to ensure that we can fund the waiting list of children diagnosed with cancer who have requested to take part in our ‘Lapland Christmas Experience’. This special trip is for one day and we provide the funds for the child and their immediate families to go on a magical tour of Lapland and provide the families with very special memories for many years to come!

With this in mind I would like to take the opportunity to tell you and your staff about our ‘Ab fab’ walks which will be taking place in Cardiff, Newport and Swansea starting at Midnight in October this year to support the Lapland trip.

They are 10 mile female-only walks and will raise money through sponsorship for The Joshua Foundation. However, we also need as many gentlemen as possible to assist with marshalling on the nights, so please volunteer guys!

This is our first Ab Fab walk and will be a really enjoyable evening with lots going on.

Registration will be at 9.30pm, which is also when the ‘warm up’ disco will begin, supported by Real Radio, plus there will be pampering and indulgence activities going on. When you return from your walk, there will be a breakfast waiting for you with a glass of bubbly and a certificate!

We aim to get in excess of 1000 women walking with us at each location for our first annual event, which will be amazing! So here’s where you can help, please discuss with your colleagues and put the enclosed poster up in any staff rooms you may have. Many organisations are walking as teams. Once registered you will be sent a full comprehensive information pack. If you need any extra posters or application forms please let me know on number above.

By taking part you will be helping to provide many children and their families who are currently coping with cancer the chance of a very special Christmas 2009!
