Infrastructure Manager - Cardiff. Intapeople are working closely with our local client who is seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Manager required to deliver a high quality IT platform to a business in Cardiff, South Wales.

You will be directly responsible for 2 reports who handle most of the 2nd/3rd line support but you will probably have a very technical background and will be able to help out on the more difficult problems.

You'll need to have a good working knowledge of ITIL (ITIL v3 foundation is essential) for this one. Other skills and experience needed will include a good working knowledge of Microsoft technologies, specifically SSCM, SCOM, SQL Server, Forefront, MOSS 2007, Active Directory, Exchange 2007 and IIS. You don't need to be an expert in these technologies but again, knowledge is required. Network infrastructure and telephony (Cisco VOIP, Cisco Switches and Routers) and an appreciation of server virtualisation and WAMP infrastructure technologies would be beneficial as well.

The team get in the region of 600 platform support calls per month, you will also drive the infrastructure and telecoms strategy for the future as well as liaising with suppliers/3rd parties and the rest of the business.
