Volunteers with an interest in computers, books, films, music and/or fashion needed.

The Oxfam on-line shop is situated above the Oxfamshop at 33, Whitchurch Road, Cardiff, CF14 3JN. Volunteers will get the opportunity to be part of the setting up of the shop, as well as its running. Volunteers will be able to learn how to use numerous computer programs and internet reference tools, knowledge that will benefit them in any computer related job in the future. Research skills are developed within the job, as all items that go onto the live site must be accurately valued, which is done using a variety of on-line resources. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to share and learn creative sales techniques, with reference to wording of sales pitches and how to photograph and present a product for a sales website. As part of a team, the volunteers will benefit from a friendly and relaxed, though hardworking office environment. Any volunteers whose first language is not English will also have the opportunity to improve their formal, colloquial and business English within the context of the job by interacting with other volunteers (We do not, in general, have to deal directly with customers or the general public).
