Job details: Purchase Ledger Clerk, Bridgend

Exciting new job opportunity has arisen within a manufacturing company based in Bridgend. You will be working in a small team, responsible for processing the purchase ledger. This is a permanent opportunity to start ASAP.



You will be responsible for inputting invoices in accordance with company procedures so that accurate records can be kept and correct financial reporting is possible.  



- Approve Invoices for payment ensuring that goods/services are correctly matched against purchase orders.

- Checking of invoices to ensure that they are authorised in line with company procedure and the correct prices and quantities are as ordered or authorised.

- Checking general ledger coding and providing adequate text descriptions where necessary.

- Supplier statement reconciliations

- Respond to queries from suppliers and resolve as required

- Intercompany reconciliations

- Maintain our web invoice approval system

- Prepare accounts for weekly payments and maintain parked list

Skills and experience required:



- Extensive experience in purchase ledger essential

- Experience using a computerised accounts package such as Sage or SAP

- Attention to detail is key for this role along with a high degree of accuracy.

- You will need to be confident, assertive and tactful in order to effectively deal with suppliers and employees.

- Excellent standard of Maths and English.

- Ability to work unsupervised and using initiative.
