Vivo Digital are Cardiff based Company involved in the development and deployment of IPTV and Digital Signage Solutions. Technical Director, John Marsden, Computer Science graduate, Cardiff University.

Job Opportunity

Overview
We are currently under going the design and development of a new digital signage system and are looking for 1-2 graduates with the right skill set to join us. Development has already started on this new system but it is at an early stage so successful applicants will have the opportunity to get involved in the shaping of the final product. You will be working with web servers, databases, TV Layouts and set top boxes (no experience expected on the TV and STB front, you will be trained).

Key Skills
- Strong PHP skills in combination with MySQL, understanding/experience MVC framework (Zend framework is what we are using). Having done a final year project involving a comprehensive MySQL would be a big plus.
- Good knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, XHTML (experience with JQuery would be plus).
- Good development and problem solving skills.
- 'Natural ability' in computing with the ability to adapt and learn quickly, along with a personal interest in coding. Any past projects either at University or in your personal time no matter how small would be great to see.

Preferable Skills
- Good knowledge of Linux systems (command line). If this is one of your key skills but you don't meet all the criteria above we would still be very interested to hear from you.
- Strong networking knowledge.

Environment
We are a small company so being comfortable working as part of a small team or individually is very important to us. We are based near the city center of Cardiff (about a 5 minute walk from the Cardiff University Computer Science building). Being based in or around Cardiff is important.

Hours
You will be need to be fully available for a standard working week.
