Classroom Supervisor job in South Wales

 

Hays Education are currently recruiting classroom supervisors to work in jobs at secondary schools in the South Wales area on a short and long-term basis.

 

Due to the introduction of "rarely cover", many secondary schools in South Wales are now covering short-term sickness with Classroom Supervisors. The job of a Classroom Supervisor is as follows:

 





- Supervising work that has been set in accordance with the school policy

- Managing the behaviour of pupils whilst they are undertaking this work in order to keep them on task

- Responding to any questions from pupils about process and procedures

- Dealing with any immediate problems or emergencies according to the school's policies and procedures;

- To safeguard the health and safety of pupils

- Collecting any completed work after the lesson and returning it to the appropriate teacher

- Reporting back as appropriate using the school's agreed referral procedures on the behaviour of pupils during the class, and any issues arising.

In order to be cleared by Hays Education to work as a Classroom Supervisor, we require the following:

 

A minimum of 40 days experience of dealing with groups of children (aged 11-16) which can be referenced

Proven behaviour management skills

Have a good understanding of the national curriculum and basic workings of a secondary school

 

Additional skills required are:

Able to use own initiative

Be flexible and willing to adapt to different situations

Reliable and hardworking

Ability to relate to pupils of all backgrounds and abilities

 

Clearance is subject to passing all vetting and referencing checks and an Enhanced CRB Disclosure
